  1. Direct Deposit Information: Employees enrolled in direct deposit will find deposit information in this section.
  2. Pay Period Data: This section displays the pay period begin and end dates for the paycheck and may not be reflective of the number of workdays you are receiving payment for. All employees are paid two weeks following the end of the pay period, denoted as the Advice Date, with the exception of Graduate Assistants and Provost’s Professional Interns. These two groups are paid immediately following the close of the pay period.
  3. Employee Data: This section displays the employee id (or employee number), record number, department, location job title and pay rate. Employees with multiple jobs will have one direct deposit advice/paycheck per job. Information in this section can be used to identify which job the paycheck is for.
  4. Tax Withholding: This section displays the Federal W-4 and CT-W4 tax withholding elections. Employees who have not submitted either form will have their tax elections defaulted to the highest withholding status.
  5. Hours and Earnings: This section displays gross earnings and hours (if applicable) being paid in the check. Please note, the year-to-date amount is a summary of all state jobs, including those at other agencies.
  6. Taxes: This section displays the calculated taxes for this pay period. Please note, the year-to-date amount is a summary of all state jobs, including those at other agencies.
    • Fed MED/EE is Medicare tax.
    • Fed OASDI/EE is Social Security tax.
    • CT FML/EE is CT Paid Leave tax.

Please note, not all employees are subject to Medicare, Social Security and/or CT FML taxes and will not see these codes listed.

  7. Before-Tax Deductions: These deductions reduce your taxable income for federal, state and or FICA (MED and OASDI). Please note, the year-to-date amount is a summary of all state jobs, including those at other agencies.
  8. After-Tax Deductions: This section displays deductions taken from your pay after taxes are withheld. Please note, the year-to-date amount is a summary of all state jobs, including those at other agencies.
  9. Leave Balances: For those employees who complete a timesheet in Core-CT, this section displays leave balances earned in accordance with their collective bargaining agreement, University policy or State regulations. Please note, balances are as of the date indicated and may be different than those displayed on the timesheet.
